Ten More Things To Do on Kauai

1. Take in the Opaekaa Falls on the East Side of the Island, or another great waterfall on that side of the island is Wailua Falls near Lihue.

2. Watch the sunset. This one never gets old and the sun always sets in the West! A Hawaiian sunset is like nothing else as the crimson sun slinks its way beneath the ocean horizon.

3. On Kauai at Poipu is the Spouting Horn Blowhole, one of the most impressive blowholes on Kauai, reaching heights of over fifty feet when the ocean crashes in. It makes great noises too, and is easy to find.

4. Hike the 800 foot tall Waipo'o Falls. A good half-day hike through the most amazing tropical vegetation with plenty of opportunities for peace and quiet.

5. The Na'Aina Kai botanical garden covers over 200 acres with diverse gardens and an amazing bronze sculpture collection. there is also a section dedicated to housing a children's garden.

6. Visit Ha'ena State Park, the traditional home of the Menehune's fishing grounds. The park is home to the famous Maniniholo Dry Cave, named after one of the mythical leaders Menehune, Hawaii's little people. There is also an interesting legend surrounding the cave.

7. The Keahua Arboretum holds thirty acres of the most beautiful natural landscape available. Streams lead the visitor into the gardens leading eventually to the base of the mountain, Mt Wai'ale'ale. Waterfalls converge dramatically here in one of the most stunning settings in the world.

8. Come and see the Fern Grotto. Once neglected, it is back to its full glory. At the base of Maunu Kapu, overlooking the Wailua River. a short cruise by boat brings you under the hanging ferns that drape the walls.

9. Visit the Kilauea Point lighthouse at the Kilauea Point National Wildlife refuge. It was originally used to help ships navigate the waters between Asia and Hawaii.

10. See the palms that make up the Coconut Coast, take in a lunch at one of the wonderful restaurants in Kapa'a, and drive the ocean drive in this beautiful part of Kauai.
